In 2024, there will once again be a choir academy as part of the St. Florian Bruckner Festival. Since 2012, concerts with the Choir Academy have been performed in the collegiate basilica with around 80 singers each time. This year there will be an a cappella choir concert   Louis Vierne's "Messe solennelle in C sharp minor" is one of the monumental organ masses conceived for two organs and a large choir, just right for the collegiate basilica with its organs (Bruckner organ and choir organ). Of course, some motets by Anton Bruckner should not be missing. They form a kind of link to the other part of the concert evening. A world premiere for two choirs, organ and sound installation will pour very special colours of orchestral and choral sounds into the basilica. And this much can already be revealed: This music will sound powerful, romantic, but then again mystical. As a special guest at the Choir Academy, we also welcome the "ARTOS Vocal Ensemble" from the Faroe Islands under the direction of Jóhannes Andreasen. You can register for the Choir Academy using the attached form.
