In keeping with Anton Bruckner and his 200th birthday, which will be celebrated nationwide in Upper Austria in 2024  with Anton Bruckner, we want to take up the theme of "Anton between the worlds" for the KUVA Art Symposium. Bruckner himself was someone who moved between worlds - socially, professionally, musically and geographically: he came from the provinces, had few social skills and was poorly read, but his colleagues, admirers, patrons and friends included people from the educated middle classes and aristocracy. Nevertheless, these connections were not unproblematic. With his way of dressing and expressing himself linguistically, he did not conform to the norms of bourgeois society and was therefore not "presentable". Despite all these adversities, the former school assistant from the village was offered a professorship at the Vienna Conservatory at the age of 44 and found himself in a flat in the Belvedere at the end of his life.
