Linzer Urfahraner Markt - 200 years of pleasures in Linz
Special exhibition in the Nordico City Museum
3rd of February to 21st of May, 2017
Twice a year, the parking lot at the Danube shore in Urfahr is transformed into a large annual market square with game stalls, roller coasters, food tents and market stalls. The "Urfix", as the Linzer Urfahraner Markt is often called, has been a fixed meeting point for generations and guarantees good entertainment for young and old.
In 2017 the Linzer Urfahraner Markt celebrates its 200th anniversary. The NORDICO Stadtmuseum therefore dedicates a special exhibition to this popular fair. Under the motto "200 years of pleasures in Linz" the history of the market from the beginnings in 1817 to the present will be shown. The visitors are expecting an exhibition, which is like the Urfahrer market itself: pleasurable, colorful and diverse. The special exhibition in the NORDICO Stadtmuseum also shows the economic and social changes of the Linz fair and its significance for generations of visitors.
During this year's spring market from April 29 to May 7, 2017, the NORDICO Stadtmuseum will also be at Urfahr with a stall.
